PANACEA IS an anarcho-apocalyptic publishing project playing new, post-capitalist models for artistic production into existence. We inhabit a community of queer & trans sex workers, performers, writers, and artists in Berlin. We reject identitarian mis-directions; we seek to liberate everyone. In short, to heal.
Over the course of the last year and a half, our community has suffered many preventable losses due to economic and social precarity. Our art and care work is underfunded. Our harm reduction is underfunded.
Traditional funding channels stay closed to us, and macro-economic mismanagement has driven the cost of living up dramatically. This puts additional strain on our already grieving community, increasing the death toll.
There is exceptional talent in our community that struggles to be manifest. This work cannot emerge from hustle alone — it requires patronage, support, and capital to achieve escape velocity.
Founded in 2021 by ‘O’ and catherine leigh schmidt, PANACEA also provides tactical support pro-bono to creative projects underground via grant writing, copy editing, design work, and campaign strategy.
IN 2024
we published “A Raver’s Field Guide to Grieving,” a collection of poems by Rafi, front-line harm reduction worker in Berlin's club scene and founder of TS Raver. Rafi passed away in May. We supported Fafanto and Peachy, two community performance series, through design and promotional work. We grieved.
